Meet "Shudu",
(The first digital super model).
The Textile and Apparel Industry is no doubt a large space where creativity exists. Although the industry is vast and experiencing massive growth, specialists (designers, tailors, textile manufacturers and others) are bent on the quest to adopt a sustainable system that will increase productivity, reduce pollution and make clothing and it's accessories accessible to consumers.
While companies are on the race to achieve this common goal, there have been massive results so far which will eventually shape the way consumers and everyother person involved in the industry see Fashion. One of the ever growing products of this challenging quest is the creation of Digital Super Models. Digital Super Models gained recognition in 2018 when the first Digital Super Model (Shudu) was featured in Fenty Beauty's plush matte lipstick.
Shudu is a South African Digital Super Model who exist only in the digital space. She was originally created as an avatar. She is completely computer generated. Although she may not be able to talk or communicate verbally, we cannot underestimate her power.
The super model is a product of creativity behind thoughts in Fashion. Her creation has been able to spark up a new dimension in textile and apparel industry.
However, since her introduction, there are other Digital Super Models who have come in place to join her existence.
The creation of Digital Super Models will indeed introduce a new system to Modelling. I believe modelling agencies and fashion companies will adapt to this system as it will be a sustainable approach to Fashion. Although Digital Super Models are gaining an uprise in recognition, nothing about them is related yet to if they will replace live models on stage.
